Australia Day is an opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate as we embrace the opportunities that are available to us as a contemporary, diverse and democratic nation. It is a chance to celebrate our Australian citizenship as the bond which unites us all, whether we are Australian by birth or by choice.
The Adelaide Plains Council celebrates Australia Day with an open community breakfast held sequentially at three locations at Two Wells, Mallala and Dublin, with catering provided by local community organisations
Presentations are made to the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year, Community Event of the Year and Community Project of the Year. These awards recognise individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the community who have been successfully nominated by their peers. Citizenship Ceremonies may also be conducted.
