The above will be recieved at Council Transfer Stations at no charge.
All Ewaste items delivered to our Transfer Stations MUST be intact. If they are not intact charges will apply.
All other Ewaste types not mentioned above will incur a charge to dispose of.
The Federal Government is supporting a scheme by way of a levy paid by manufacturers of the listed items, to recycle them. The items contain materials that are harmful when released into the environment. They also contain very rare minerals that are not renewable and are becoming short in supply. Items that are not listed are not supported by the levy & normal waste transfer fees apply.
Fluorescent Tube Lighting
In the dark about where to dispose of used light globes? Recycle them for FREE at Mitre 10 or True Value Hardware.
SA householders can simply drop of their end-of life globes at the checkout counter of any Banner Hardware, Mitre 10 or True Value hardware stores. This ensures that globes will be recycled instead of going to landfill and prevents mercury contained in some globes from harming the environment.
