In 2010/2011 Council undertook a comprehensive review of its Section 41 Committees, resulting in a restructure of committees. The review saw the implementation of four Advisory Committees which align with Councils Strategic Planning objectives; Community Development and Advisory Committee, Economic Development Advisory Committee, Environmental Management Advisory Committee and the Facilities and Infrastructure Advisory Committee.
As part of the review some of the existing committees remained in the new structure; including Animal Management Advisory Committee, Mallala & Districts Historical Committee and the Mallala & Districts Homes Committee.
